Fewer people taking taxis
Fewer people are taking taxis nowadays as they hop on buses and trains to cut down expenses. On average, there were almost 900 thousands taxi trips made a day in the first three months of the year, lowest in five years. After deducting rental and feul costs, a taxi shared by 2 drivers working shift collected $166 a day. This work out an average of $83 a driver a day.

Well, i also will not take a cab unless it is necessary.
When you need cab, they are always not available.
That is my personal experience.
Therefore it is good to have more cabs around and drive the prices downwards.
The cab companies are earning alot of money but not the cab driver.
